Calgary Police Youth Foundation

This small but mighty foundation raises funds to support grass roots programming that puts Calgary police officers in direct contact with children and teens who are identified as high risk of becoming involved in or victims of crime. FERVOR crafted a Core Story then Key Messages that communicated the need to fund these programs (unique in Canada) as preventative measures. Then we set about writing and designing a Case for Support. FERVOR asked CPYF if we could include quotes from kids, teachers, parents and funders. They had hundreds of messages of support for the programs and the difference they made in young people’s lives. But FERVOR went one step further by asking CPYF to ask officers to give us impressions of how the programs changed them. Officers were skeptical at first but then set about writing powerful messages of how the programs changed the very way they think about policing, about young people in trouble and even how they looked at their own parenting.
